Superstar musicians Lenny Kravitz and Anitta have been crowned the Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities of 2022, for 2017 by animal rights organisation PETA.

Each year, the vegan charity presents the award to celebrities whose lifestyles inspire others to try the vegan lifestyle and plant-based diet.

The duo join an impressive lineup of past winners such as Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Anderson .Paak, Jhené Aiko and Leona Lewis.

“With more than 65 million followers between them, Kravitz and Anitta are global superstars who are inspiring millions of people to go their way and let love rule by keeping animals off their plates,” PETA’s senior VP Lisa Lange said in a statement.

“PETA’s Most Beautiful Vegans of 2022 are showing the world what it means to thrive on planet-protecting, plant-powered meals.”

Lenny Kravitz

The 58-year-old singer-songwriter, who moved to the Bahamas amid the raging pandemic gave a peek into his lifestyle during a Men’s Health interview in 2020. The legendary rock star showed off his beautiful gardens where he grows practically all his own produce.

“As you can see, I’m vegan and primarily raw,” he told the publication at the time.

“When I’m here I love to eat as much food as possible, especially in the summertime when you have all those beautiful fruits growing. I’m very careful about what I put into my body and how I take care of my body.”

According to Kravitz, being vegan is “the right thing for yourself and for the planet and animals.”

Anitta

Meanwhile Brazilian singer Larissa de Macedo Machado, better known by her stage name Anitta, was inspired to ditch animal products in 2019 after watching vegan documentary Cowspiracy.

She even encouraged her then Instagram followers to watch the documentary and make educated changes to their lifestyles.

“To challenge myself in 2019, I will be trying to change some of the environmentally-harmful habits I have. I suggest you also watch it – while not everyone has to agree with me, it’s always good to receive all kinds of information and seek your own truth,” she wrote in the caption.

Earlier this year, she partnered with plant-meat maker and food tech company Future Farm. Apart from being one of the most influential Latinx artists in the world, Anitta, who is also an entrepreneur and businesswoman will leverage her influence and brand-building expertise to help scale the operation.

“Who has tasted plant meat?” she wrote on Instagram to announce the partnership.

“It’s like me: innovative, superhot, and good for the environment!”
