McQueen is said to be “leading a new generation of ethically minded foodies into a more sustainable future.”

UK’s youngest founder of vegan restaurant Dipalicious turned TV chef Omari McQueen has added another feather in his cap.

This month, the 12-year-old just launched his first vegan cookbook with over 35 easy-to-make plant-based recipes.

Apart from featuring an array of plant-based dishes such as Jamaican Patties, Rasta Pasta, Brow Jackfruit Stew, Rocky Roads, and Strawberry Coconut Cheesecake, the book also has McQueen’s ‘top tips’ and ‘essential ingredients’ list.

His Best Bites Cookbook comes close on the heels of him bagging his own vegan cooking show on CBBC, a BBC-operated channel for children.

‘Delicious meals without using animal products’

“I’m living out my mission to bring people together through food without harming animals but I’m also proving to myself and others that anything is possible,” Omari told his 25000 followers on Instagram whilst announcing the news of his book launch.

“Now look I’m the author of my own cookbook “Omari McQueen Best Bites” it took a lot of hard work, grammar, and spellchecks.

“I have my own show on CBBC I have been acknowledged around the world and supported by all you amazing people.

“I did it and I did it for us all we can be anything that we want to be.”

He added: “I did this to show the world that vegan meals can be as delicious if not more than any meal without using animal products.

“As my great-grandad would say “clean heart, clean mind, clean soul, stay humble”

‘Leading a new generation’

The book has been published by Scholastic UK after acquiring world rights from talent & literary agent Oscar Janson-Smith, who previously described McQueen as “leading a new generation of ethically minded foodies into a more sustainable future.”

Publishing manager Leah James said: “Omari McQueen is inspirational.

“At just 12 years old, he has achieved so much. His passion for food and cooking is irresistible.

“Children everywhere have been busy learning to cook during lockdown; we can’t wait for Omari to share his recipes, tips, and enthusiasm with a generation of children and their families.”

“Omari is leading a new generation of ethically minded foodies into a more sustainable future.”

Awards for McQueen

While the vegan cookbook, is McQueen’s newest achievement, the boy wonder has won a number of other accolades.

In 2018, he scooped the TruLittle Hero Award for being the Entrepreneur Hero under 12 by Cause4Children Ltd.

He was also awarded the Compassionate Kids award for his exceptional entrepreneurial knack to help animals and the Proud and Gifted Award for not only being an amazingly gifted vegan chef but also an inspiration to fellow youths.
