Aldi is set to launch three new vegan ready meals to expand its own brand plant-based range.

The budget supermarket chain will introduce Red Pepper and Mango Curry, Smoky Jackfruit Chilli and Yellow Thai Curry to its I am Vegan selection.

The frozen meals are approved by The Vegan Society and will be available in all UK stores at £1.99 each.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said in a statement, “The launch of our new vegan range is in response to our growing, ethically inspired customer base, looking for delicious alternatives to meat and another example of our ongoing commitment to cater for all diets, at everyday low prices.

“We look forward to expanding our vegan offering even further over the coming months,” she added.

The company will also be introducing a range of vegan value-meals, which include Organic Japanese Tofu (£1.49), Veggie Jerky (99p) and Oat Milk for just 89p.

Customers have celebrated the launch on social media. One Instagrammer commented: “Thank you so much for bringing new vegan options! It is so convenient to be able to do all the grocery shopping for my kids (non-vegan) and myself (vegan) in one stop.”

Another added: “Aldi is legit my only grocery store after all the vegan options came out.”
