Ben & Jerry’s launches Vegan Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Ice cream giant Ben & Jerry’s has announced that a vegan version of its iconic cookie dough ice cream flavour will hit the shelves later this year.

The Cookies on Cookie Dough plant-based flavour will be in supermarkets in autumn, and will feature almonds, vegan cookie dough chunks, chocolatey chunks and a cookie swirl.

The company said in a statement: “Our classic Cookie Dough tub was concocted for people who know the joy (and the temptation!) of sneaking a bite or two of cookie dough before it makes it into the oven, which got us thinking… Why should our vegan fans have to miss out?

“We’ve been working hard, with our friends at Rhino [Rhino Foods – which supplied the cookie dough] to create a vegan cookie dough that really stands up to the original. I think we nailed it.”

The Cookies on Cookie Dough will be available in stores from September this year and set customers back £6.

It joins other vegan Ben & Jerry’s flavours including Peanut Butter & Cookies and Chocolate Fudge Brownie.
