“With demand for plant-based breakfast options continuing to rise and more of us eating breakfast at-home, we knew the segment was ripe for innovation.”

This month, plant-based meat brand Beyond Meat has launched its newest product: Beyond Breakfast Sausage Links which it describes as a ‘perfectly delicious plant-based addition to any breakfast spread’.

The latest product launch coincides with National Sausage Month and will start appearing at a variety of national retailers, including Kroger, Albertsons, Sprouts, Harris Teeter, Wegmans and Whole Foods Market from this month.

According to the brand, the sausage links were created to deliver the same taste and texture as a pork breakfast sausage.

Made using a signature blend of savory herbs and spices, the links have no GMOs, bioengineered ingredients, synthetic colors, hormones, antibiotics or cholesterol, and have 40% less sodium than a leading brand of traditional pork breakfast sausage links.

A pack of eight links will be sold for a suggested retail price of $5.99

‘Better-for-you plant-based meat option’

“With demand for plant-based breakfast options continuing to rise and more of us eating breakfast at-home, we knew the segment was ripe for innovation,” said Stuart Kronauge, Chief Marketing Officer at Beyond Meat, in a statement.

“With the launch of Beyond Breakfast Sausage Links, we’re thrilled to introduce another better-for-you plant-based meat option to satisfy consumers’ love of classic breakfast dishes.

“We think our fans will be excited that they can make restaurant-style breakfast an at-home staple with our new links.”

Beyond Meat’s 2020 product range

The new sausage links mark Beyond Meat’s fourth retail product launch in 2020 following Beyond Breakfast Sausage Patties, Cookout Classic and Beyond Meatballs, which the company released last month.

Beyond Meat products have soared in popularity this year. The Los Angeles-based brand also introduced its direct-to-consumer sales option online as part of its efforts to increase accessibility to plant-based meat to more consumers nationwide.

With the latest retail expansion, Beyond Meat’s products are now stocked at approximately 112,000 retail and foodservice outlets in 85 countries worldwide.
