New pro-vegan documentary The Game Changers has announced it will be available on iTunes from October 1.

The movie dispels myths about needing meat for top athletic performance, featuring high profile sports stars including Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic and Arnold Schwarzenegger – who are all executive producers.

The documentary is already available for preorder on iTunes after cinemas sold out when the movie launched this week.

The Game Changers promotes elite athletes who have followed a plant-based diet and achieved incredible athletic performance.

The documentary has already received rave reviews, and even turned some viewers vegan.

During the trailer, Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals ‘I ate a lot of meat’ in his past.

“They showed us commercials selling the idea that real men eat meat. But you’ve got to understand – that’s marketing. That’s not based on reality,” he says.

The Game Changers features interviews with Farris Kendrick, a weightlifter who has broken two American records, alongside a wide range of sports stars including body builders, cyclists, runners, American footballers, racing drivers and boxers.

“One of the biggest misconceptions in sports nutrition is that we have to have animal protein to perform at a high level. That’s just not true,” a narrator explains.

The documentary also speaks to sports stars who have recovered from injury faster on plant-based diets, and teams which have performed above expectations.
