Aldi reveals vegan Christmas range including plant-based duck and wellington

Aldi UK has unveiled its vegan Christmas range, which includes vegan duck and a festive wellington among other plant-based starters and mains.

This Christmas, the budget supermarket chain is launching 136 brand new lines and changing 200 existing ones in a bid to entice vegan shoppers.

The chain’s festive range will feature a Mexican-style party pack including mini tacos filled with vegetable pibil, BBQ jackfruit tortilla rolls and chipotle tofu flauta.

A dim sum selection including mushroom bao buns, vegan duck rolls, and pumpkin dumplings, along with a tempura vegetable pack.

The brand’s frozen pastry-based mains are made with crispy flash-fried dairy-free pastry. The vegan parcels will be available in Firecracker Vegetable and BBQ Jackfruit flavours.

Aldi will also offer a cauliflower wellington with garlic, turmeric and ginger for an Indian flavor and a tearable Mushroom Roulade wrapped in flaky pastry.

Plant-Based Christmas

Aldi’s vegan range is one of the many plant-based options launched by other supermarkets and food retailers for the upcoming festive season.

Tesco shoppers will get to choose from vegan pigs in blankets, Butternut Squash, Mushroom, and Chestnut Wreath, Carrot & Thyme Tarte Tatin and a Sweet Potato & Red Cabbage Christmas Log along with delicious desserts.

Marks and Spencer’s shelves will display vegan no pigs in blankets, a plant-based root vegetable Tarte Tatin entrée, a vegan sweet potato sandwich with chestnut and cranberry roast and dark chocolate and cherry dessert.

Waitrose has a variety of tasty canapés, main meals, and mouthwatering desserts for its customers.

Sainsbury’s food-to-order options include festive plant-based meals, trimmings, puddings, and pastries.

And Morrison’s customers will be treated to an assortment of tasty vegan options including a plant-based version of the staple Christmas pigs in blankets, Katsu Croquettes, Korean Jackfruit Bao Buns, and a Best Vegetable Layered Tart.
