NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus faces stark criticism from animal charity PETA after the longtime player rep posted a video of himself wrestling with a shark.

A well-known NFL agent, Rosenhaus has the best connections and the biggest network of clients. He currently represents Tyreek Hill, Darren Waller, DJ Moore, Aaron Jones, and Chris Olave among others.

According to insiders, even the movie Jerry Maguire was based on him.

The shark incident happened during a fishing trip in Miami that  Rosenhaus took with  Tyreek Hill, a prominent player of the Miami Dolphins.  

During their outing, they hooked a dusky shark and Rosenhaus jumped into the water with a snorkel mask, swam right up next to the shark and grabbed onto its tail. 

He posted the video on Twitter with a caption that read: “Went fishing with @cheetah [Tyreek Hill] today and decided to get up close to this Dusky Shark.” 

‘Wannabe macho man’

While his antics drew mixed reviews on social media, PETA criticized his actions.

“Spending so much time around top athletes must have Drew Rosenhaus feeling like he has something to prove,” PETA told TMZ Sports.

“Aquatic animals already suffer at the hands of anglers who impale them, yank them out of the water, and gut them or leave them to suffocate, so they don’t need some wannabe macho man yanking on their tails for a few Twitter ‘likes.’”

“Animal cruelty at its finest.  The fact that you posted the proudly says a lot,”

“Was rooting for the shark to break loose and get some revenge—disturbing behaviour from a guy I use to admire in this industry.

‘Leave the shark alone. He was just minding his own business.’
