“Humanrace Skincare doesn’t differentiate by race or gender. We’re creating for humans; we are all born in the same skin and Humanrace celebrates this.”
Celebrity musician and entrepreneur Pharrell Williams is launching a new skincare brand featuring vegan products.
The new line, Humanrace, dubbed to be the ageless 47-year-old singer’s skincare regimen, is formulated to be suitable for all genders, races, and skin types.
https://twitter.com/humanrace/status/1329860592518066176/photo/1Williams has developed the line with the help of his personal dermatologist of 20 years, Elena Jones, MD.
It includes a trio of products needed for a “three-minute facial,” to “get [you] up on a regular basis feeling empowered.”
‘Three-minute facial’
Commenting on the new skincare line, Williams said: “It’s created to take three minutes morning and night. Your face is the result of the spirit behind it, it’s important to take care of your skin and to also take time for yourself each day.
“Humanrace Skincare doesn’t differentiate by race or gender. We’re creating for humans; we are all born in the same skin and Humanrace celebrates this.”
According to Jones, the new line has “no rocks, nuts, seeds or plastic particles in our formulas to ensure no microtears occur which can result in damaging your skin.”
The new skin line products are: Rice Powder Cleanser, Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator, and Humidifying Cream.

According to the brand, the rice powder cleanser is a ‘transformative powder- to-foam cleanser that brightens and hydrates the skin, dissolving excess oil, make up, and impurities’.
“We want everyone to get that alchemical sensation of watching something go from a powder in your hands, to adding water, and then the chemistry happens… the Rice Powder Cleanser turns into foam. Like magic, you feel that sensation on your skin,” the brand’s description reads on Instagram.
Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator ($46)
The creamy triple-action exfoliator combines ‘8% glycolic acid with enzymatic and physical exfoliants to brighten and revitalize the skin’.
Humidifying Cream ($48)
The humidifying cream is described as a ‘cushioning cream that mimics the complexion benefits of humidity, delivering dynamic hydration that adapts to your skin’s unique needs’. Snow mushroom extract and squalene help lock the moisture and keep the skin thoroughly supported and nourished.
The packaging includes eco-friendly refillable and reusable containers, made from 50% post-consumer recycled material.
The line is set to debut exclusively on the brand’s website on 25th November.
Vegan beauty brands
Williams’s new vegan skincare range joins a slew of celebrity-backed vegan beauty lines released in recent months.
For instance, Rihanna unveiled her unisex FENTY Skin line [MD1] in July and Selena Gomez launched her Rare Beauty line at Sephora in September.
In August, TikTok star Addison Rae launched her vegan ITEM Beauty range followed by former MTV reality star-turned-businesswoman Lauren Conrad launching a range of vegan eco-friendly makeup.
Multiple Grammy-award winning singer Alicia Keys is also gearing to launch a groundbreaking new vegan lifestyle beauty brand in partnership with E.L.F. Cosmetics. The beauty line is speculated to be released in 2021.
The new influx of vegan beauty vegan ranges hardly seems surprising. According to The Vegan Society, vegan skincare ranges have almost tripled in the past seven years, indicating a potential growing market for plant-based products.
