‘Our main aim is to debunk any myths out there around veganism and help our community educate themselves on a plant-based lifestyle’

Vegan online platform  VeganLiftz.com is offering three meat-lovers a chance to earn £2,000 each by going vegan for one month.

The offer is part of a study to demonstrate how going vegan can impact health and fitness.

VeganLiftz wants to select aspiring candidates from the top meat-eating cities in a bid to highlight the benefits of a vegan based lifestyle in a predominantly meat eating population.

According to its survey of more than 4,500 adults, Newcastle is the top meat-eating city in the country, with over 84 percent confirming they eat meat daily.

Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool and London are the other cities with the highest number of meat-eaters.

Selection criteria

VeganLiftz listed the criteria for selecting the candidates, which include:

  • Being between 18 to 60 years of age
  • Having no underlying health conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, or hyperthyroidism,
  • Following a meat-heavy diet consistently for at least a year prior.

As part of the study, the selected candidates will be given a vegan diet plan, which they will follow for a month and will go through a remote health and fitness check, both before and after the study.

While the candidates will continue following their daily routines, they will record their experiences of going vegan for 30 days, since data of the effects of following plant-based protocols will be used as case studies for public education

‘Debunk myths’

“Our main aim is to debunk any myths out there around veganism and help our community educate themselves on a plant-based lifestyle,” Jason Hughes, founder of VeganLiftz.com, said.

“It’s important to us that the case studies we produce from our latest recruits are honest, relatable and informative, and both negatives and positives are reported.

“To get maximum results, we think it’s important to hire people who have previously eaten a lot of meat.”
