Pro-vegan documentary The Game Changers, which dispels myths about needing meat to reach top athletic performance, is available to watch on Netflix today (October 16).
The streaming service has added the movie following its incredible popularity after launching in cinemas last month.
The documentary features some of the world’s top plant-based athletes and has been directed by renowned filmmaker Louie Psihoyos and executive produced by James Cameron, Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and James Wilks.
It sold out in hundreds of cinemas on release before becoming the best selling documentary on iTunes of all time within just a week of its release.
Documentary
The documentary follows the story of James Wilks, a former UFC athlete, elite special forces trainer and the plant-based winner of “The Ultimate Fighter,” as he travels the world to unravel the secrets about meat, protein, and strength. He interviews elite personalities from different walks of life about the benefits of eating plant-based.
Wilks’ journey ‘expose(s) outdated myths about food that not only affect human performance, but the health of the entire global population’.
Influential
The movie could have a huge impact on people’s perception of the health benefits of a vegan diet.
Some people were immediately convinced to switch to a plant-based diet after the launch.
“Honestly The Game Changers is an INCREDIBLE film, I’d advise anyone curious about veganism to give it a watch. Especially athletes! Made me curious how even more amazing @TWoffinden or other speedway riders would be if they went vegan,” an impressed viewer wrote on Twitter.
Doctors have been convinced of the film’s effectiveness too, as health providers have requested copies of the movie to show to patients as an example of how a balanced plant-based diet can be beneficial to our health.
