According to Deliveroo, customers are increasingly choosing vegan food over their meat counterparts.
The food delivery app has revealed vegan orders have spiked to over 330% in the past 2 years with the app receiving most orders for Honest Burgers’ PLANT – vegan + Chips, Wagamama’s vegatsu curry and Oowee Vegan’s Vegan Fried Chicken Burger.
The number of restaurants offering vegan food on the platform has also grown by 168 per cent in the past year alone.
Last month, Bristol’s Oowee Vegan won the Restaurant of the Year award at the first-ever Deliveroo Awards for takeaway food.
Joe Groves at Deliveroo said: “Whether flexitarian or full-fledged vegan, Deliveroo customers are embracing the growing choices of vegan foods available for delivery.
“No longer resigned to just salads Brits are loving imitation meats, vegan-friendly alternatives and the infamous dirty vegan dishes.”
The other popular dishes regularly ordered on the app include Greggs’ plant-based sausage rolls, By Chloe’s guacamole burger, Pizza Express’ vegan margarita, and the burger from Halo Burger.

Most food giants, restaurants and supermarkets have introduced innovative dishes to meet the growing demand for vegan meals as the market for plant-based meats continues to boom.

High street food chain Zizzi features a vegan jackfruit pepperoni pizza to its new autumn menu.
Pret a Manger sells vegan versions of its most popular tuna, egg, duck, and bacon sandwiches.
Papa John’s wants to hire a Chief Vegan Officer to help the company grow its plant-based menu in the UK.
Supermarkets across the country have also expanded their plant-based ranges to cater to growing demand.
